“Don’t listen to what people tell you because they’ll try to bring you down. And don’t listen to yourself, either, because yourself will try to bring you down even more so than anyone else. As long as you just put all your energy into one thing, it can happen.”

Chris Colfer Tries ‘Lightning’ the Mood

While Kurt Hummel’s “Glee” aspirations have him bound for Broadway, Chris Colfer’s real-life quest has him aiming for the big screen. Later this summer, we’ll be able to see “Struck By Lightning.” Not only does Colfer star in the movie — he also wrote and produced it!

The film is a comedy about a teen who, after being struck and killed by lightning, flashes back to tell the tale of how he blackmailed his fellow student into contributing to the literary magazine he was publishing.

Colfer told us the movie is clearly written from a teen’s perspective, and the results are unlike what you would get from teen movies scripted by older writers.

Chris Colfer ‘Strikes’ Gold with Movie’s Life Lessons

Glee star Chris Colfer is quietly becoming a Hollywood mogul. Aside from acting on Glee, Colfer has sold a pilot to The Disney Channel called The Little Leftover Witch, which is based on the children’s book by Florence Laughlin. Colfer is currently working on the project as a producer and writer.

In addition to those projects, he wrapped up filming the teen flick Struck by Lightning, which he stars in, produces, and wrote. Having all those responsibilities on a movie can’t be easy, especially for a young professional. We spoke to Colfer and asked him what he learned about himself while making the film.

Struck by Lightning will be released in theatres sometime in 2012, but in the meantime, catch Colfer on Glee airing 8/7 central Tuesday nights on FOX. x

Hadn’t seen this one before. Do make sure you watch all the way to the um…end.
