“For me, personally, the most exciting thing about shooting in New York was when Lea and I got to shoot our number in the Gershwin Theatre. Just to actually be on that stage where it all happened, it was.. it was crazy for me, it was just a huge, huge dream come true. And I remember as soon as I walked out on the stage, that I was just looking at the set.. and the lighting, and the costumes, and the props backstage, and I walk center of the stage.. and I looked out at the house and it was just huge, and I remember thinking to myself… I never knew the seats were blue.” - Chris Colfer

Glee Season 2 DVD Extras- Filming in New York

This is where all the Wicked behind-the-scenes stuff has been coming from. That part starts around 4:20.

Chris Colfer: For me, personally, the most exciting thing about shooting in New York was when Lea and I got to shoot our number in the Gershwin Theater.
Ashley Fink: My favorite part of the script was probably Rachel and Kurt sneaking into the Gershwin Theater. Because it’s so who we were. We were the kind of kids that would have plotted something this ridiculous. And it’s like your wildest dream getting to come true.
Chris: Just to  actually be on that stage where it all happened, and it, it was, it was just crazy for me. It was a huge, huge dream come true.
Ashley: It’s like the church of Wicked. It’s amazing. Chris, Lea, and I- we got on the elevator, and we all shed a little tear, not gonna lie.
Chris: I remember, as soon as I walked out on the stage… and I was just looking at the set and the lighting and the costumes and the props backstage, and I walk out into the center of the stage, and I looked out at the house, and it was just huge, and I remember thinking, ‘I never knew the seats were blue’.

The awe on Chris’ face, especially in that first panel, is just incredible! I’m so thrilled for him that he got this opportunity. <3

Can’t wait to see this on the DVD!

Chris is basically teary eyed throughout the whole thing, and he just looks so happy when he’s talking about performing on the Gershwin Theater, it’s absolutely amazing.

For those asking, I can’t rip the DVD because the internet is really slow here, also I don’t know how to, but I’m trying to upload as many screenshots as I can.

Thank you so much for sharing these! <3

I love how overwhelmed Chris is!

Also, Ashley was there with them, and she talks about how they stepped on the stage and started crying.

Oh wow! That’s so cool that Ashley came with them, too! :)

More behind the scenes on the Wicked stage. Look at Chris staring around in wonder in the first picture.

Oh wow! Chris’ face in these is just too much! The first one, especially. I can’t even imagine how much getting to do this must have meant to him. And just thinking about what his 13 year-old self would have thought about knowing he was going to have this opportunity someday, it brings tears.
